The Mohawk Lodge is een tijger die kan klauwen en bijten, maar zich daarna evengoed al spinnend over zijn buik laat wrijven. Indie, rock en soul gaan hierbij mooi hand in hand.

De band, afkomstig uit Toronto, heeft al een behoorlijke reputatie opgebouwd. Dit bracht hen al in alle uithoeken van de wereld, waar ze vanaf nu dus ook Gent aan kunnen toevoegen.

Damaged Goods fits perfectly in The Mohawk Lodge canon, another autobiographical soundtrack that changes players and sounds as Havdale changes cities and situations. A blurry mix of Bruce Springsteen, a teenage Swervedriver, a Repeater-era Fugazi and Neil Young circa Ragged Glory all come together in Damaged Goods, along with the raw, urgent atmosphere of early-nineties lo-fi rock and roll. Havdale’s mission is to involve and integrate everyone he knows into his music: in doing so, he’s gone on some cataclysmic journeys, sometimes to the world outside, and sometimes to the basement of his soul. This is the music of one man’s disjointed route on planet earth, and when focused into music, it becomes one cathartic, epic voyage.
